To use a simple definition, prayer is our love joined to God's love, and that love visits the person for whom we are praying.

Even if people do not know that we are praying for them, the power of prayer is still communicated at a spiritual level. We often sense that something is happening even when no words are spoken (e.g., when someone is angry at us, or when something painful has happened to a loved one).

This is the level at which prayers have their effect. Even if we never tell the loved one that we are praying for him or her, that person senses it at a profound level. We are embracing that person in our love and God's love and love always brings healing.

The Franciscans Like St. Francis of Assisi we are first and foremost called to deepen our union with God in Christ. We seek to make God the most important reality of our lives. As Franciscans, from our life of prayer all else flows.

Our Prayer is our greatest gift we can give to you, it is our most valued gift and treasure. It is through prayer & Eucharist that gives us life and nourishes us spiritually and physically in order that we may be good and faithful ministers to God's people.

Here is a direct link to the Prayer Request Page.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36894885.post-46512706957147102602007-04-15T20:07:00.000-05:002008-12-09T15:18:23.390-06:00Upper Room MinistriesThe Upper Room® is a global ministry dedicated to supporting the spiritual formation of Christians seeking to know and experience God more fully. We welcome your prayer requests at her National Shrine. Prayer requests are received here at the Shrine to be remembered in our daily Masses and devotions through the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary. Explain the basic situation and let it go at that.

Remember the person you are speaking with is there to pray with you. It is often inappropriate to try to stretch your prayer time into a lengthy conversation.

Be respectful of the process - turn off the television, turn off the radio, and get your self centered and quiet.

If you are emailing for prayer, resist the temptation to "spam" the prayer line. One request per prayer need is enough. It really is.

Prayer lines have no control over who collects email addresses from their public forums so do not post your email address on a public forum unless you want to recieve unsolicited mail from scam artists and other unsavory characters.

If you find a prayer line that you really like, consider donating or tithing to them. Support your favorite prayer line in anyway that you can. They are, after all, supporting you in prayer.

When a prayer request is answered, let them know. Prayer warriors need to know that their hard work is getting good results.

And last but not least:

Don't ask others to pray for you if you aren't willing to pray for yourself.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36894885.post-1162913632577326342006-11-07T09:30:00.000-06:002006-11-13T09:58:06.030-06:00About this site. The prayer request hotline blog came about as the direct result of an experiment in prosperity called: Prayer, does it work? To take a look at the original project, you can find it at The Prosperity Project.

As the project progressed, it became clear that there was a need for a definitive list of reputable prayer sites from a wide variety of religious cultures and beliefs. I have personally visited each site listed here. My comments, and the comments of others can be found in the individual posts that spotlight the various sites. Any comments that you might have about your own experience of any of these sites would be appreciated and valued.

To make it easy to search for sites based on religious preference, I have provided list pages for each major religious persuasion, with short descriptions and links to the in depth profiles provided for each prayer site.

If you are looking for a specific prayer site you can use the internal google search above. Just choose the "search this site" option, and if the prayer resource you are looking for is listed here, it should come up.

One way to use this site, if you do not have a religious preference, is to check in periodically (once a day, once a week, or even once a month), and call or email the prayer line that is featured on that day. If you subscribe to this blog, you can have the prayer site of the day delivered directly to your in box - it's easy, and it's free. No strings and no spam attached.

The one thing I learned in creating this listing is that the world is full of kind hearted, sincere, and dedicated people who are true prayer warriors. All you have to do is take courage, reach out, and you will find someone who is willing to be there for you and stand in the gap with you and intercede on your behalf.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
